Snapshots

Ok so the time between internet access for me is too long , and I can't wait until the next time I'm on to update you about the most recent happenings. SOOOOO I'm going to give you a little recap on the honeymoon and our first week in the apartment . . .

Honeymoon:
We arrived at the Renaissance Hotel at 2:40am. Our suite was sooo nice! We showered, went to bed . . . woke up at 6:00, and were at the airport by 7:30am.
Our first flight was an hour late. So we ended up departing at 10:30? We arrived in Arizona at 2:30pm MT. It was 110 degrees!!! AHHHH I was tired and cranky . . . no surprise there. We got to our villa (gorgeous!!) at the Westin Kierland, and took a nap. That evening we went to the grill at the villas and got some food and bought a few snacks and sodas to keep in our fridge.
Monday: We went shopping at the Kierland Commons where I got jeans, a jacket, a skirt, and a tank all for $114 at Ann Taylor Loft!! WHAT?!?!?! :) We got lunch at a cute sandwich shop Chloe's Corner. I had a turkey sandwich, and I learned that cranberry sauce is a popular topping on turkey sandwiches. It was interesting. Then we got Cold Stone and went back to the villa.
Tuesday we had a full day tour (6:40 am to 10:00 pm) of Sedona and the Grand Canyon, including an hour long helicopter ride over the canyon. IT WAS SO FREAKIN' AMAZING! We bought a video of our flight over the canyon. Can't wait for it to come in the mail! It was a long and tiring day, but so worth it. When we got back at 10 we ordered room service. Mine was NASTY! ewwy BBBUUURRRGGGERRRR!!! (that's me vomiting while saying burger- I didn't really vomit though).
Wednesday we walked around the Villas, and Resort in the evening. We saw the sunset over the villa, the mountains behind the golf course, and we listened to the bag piper at sunset. :) It was beautiful. We ended the evening out at a 5 start restaurant called Deseo. One of the top 20 in the US. Not our style of food, but it was delicious. I had Ahi Tuna, some steak dish, and Rice pudding. Unfortunately during our first course a spider appeared on the table . . . and during the second course a spider crawled up a post right next to our table. Not our favorite experience. Priced well though! $40 a person for a 3 course meal. Not bad for 5 stars! and 2 spiders . . .
Thursday we left the villas at 7:30am and left Phoenix at 10:00am-ish. Arrived in Philly at 8:00pm. We got home to our apartment at 10:00pm.
When we weren't out and about in Arizona we did a lot of married stuff, and watched a lot of Glee and movies . . . lol. I was called Mrs. Grossman the whole time :) Our favorite part of the honeymoon was the helicopter ride, and the jet tub. :) Yeah that's right.

First Night at the Apartment:
We had a mattress sheet, one pillow, and a thick comforter. It was so hot. Not the greatest night sleep. We returned to the 'Boro the following day in time for dinner. We relaxed at home for a couple days. I was excited to meet my sister's new kitten. She is so precious. We went to church for the first time as a married couple. Everyday things are exciting right now, because it's the first time doing them as a married couple. :) Sunday afternoon we opened our wedding gifts, and that evening we returned to our apartment.

First full day at the Apartment (Mon):
Good morning, exciting life!!! I woke up at 8:30, but didn't want to get out of bed. Then I woke up at 9:00 . . . but this time things were so different. I thought to myself, "Why isn't my phone charging anymore?" ZOMG! OUR ELECTRIC IS OUT!

. . .

We were supposed to put the electric in our name on Monday . . . well the electric company made the mistake of turning our electric off. Our landlord was not happy. I was pissed. We took care of it, but they couldn't turn it on until the next day. So all day we couldn't cook, shower, . . . etc. at our place. Thankfully our friends let us come over to shower and iron the clothes we needed for Sean's interview that evening. God bless friends. It was an interesting day. Needless to say I was able to blog to you guys that day, check my facebook, and completely unpack my kitchen. Sean worked 12-9.

Day Two at the Apartment (Tues):
Sean left for work at 9:20, and the electric was turned on at 10! THANK GOD! I immediately got to work. I cleaned our shower for 2 and a half hours! Just the shower . . . repulsive. Then I took a break for the world's greatest cup of coffee. . . from my very own kitchen. I then got back to work scrubbing the tile walls in the bathroom. I learned how much of a clean freak I am. Holy dirty bathroom. I also cleaned under the fridge . . . then I showered and went grocery shopping to stock the kitchen . . . wow expensive. Sean worked 10-9 For dinner I made "Chicken Panini" which is basically a chicken breast stuffed with mozzarella and basil served with a home made Salsa Rossa sauce and a side of fresh salad. It was delicious.

Day Three at the Apartment (Wed):
I literally shopped all day. JCP, TJ Max, Marshalls, Target, Wal-Mart. I had so many things we needed for the house. I got a few things we still needed for the kitchen, decor for the living room, paint, tools for Sean, etc. I have never spent that much money at one time . . . I did some damage . . . and that kind of shopping is not enjoyable. It was exhausting. It took so much time, and my cart was so heavy. I unpacked everything and that was that. Sean worked 9-10. For dinner I made homemade Mac' N Cheese (and peas) and peach cobbler :). SOOO GOOD

Day Four at the Apartment (Thur):
Kristen came over and helped me paint the living/dining room and hall. Yellow :) pale yellow during the day, but at night when our very yellow light bulbs are lighting the place it looks rather banana like. . . I will be getting lighter bulbs. :) Sean worked 9-10. For dinner we had burritos! SO much easier.

Day Five . . . (Fri:
I painted the shelf, taped for painting th trim, and painted some of the trim. Took forever. Someone painted all the trim in the apartment tan. Ew. So I have to paint it all back to white. Takes 3 coats. ANNOYING! Sean worked 12-9. For dinner we had this pasta that was rather boring, so I probably won't ever use that recipe again. The summer squash from my aunt was amazing though!

Day Six . . . TODAY!:
Sean doesn't work until 5, so we are at Starbucks using the free Wi-Fi! lol. Heather told me the wedding photos were online a couple days ago, so this was the first chance we had to see them. They are stunning. Absolutely amazing!! Ah! :) So here I am blogging away. I will add photos after I upload them to my computer. One thing at a time . . .

When Sean goes to work I am going to finish painting the trim, and hopefully put the living room together. The place is a mess. Sean works until 12 tonight so I should have plenty of time to get the living room put back in order. I hope so. Then I can start showing pictures of the place!! It's so cute.

Well it's cold in here, and we need to get home so we can eat some left overs! I don't know if I will be on the internet again until Wednesday . . . that is when Blue Ridge is hooking up our internet!! YAY!!!

Plans for the weekend: paint today, Sean has Sun and Mon off so we are going to church, going to the movies with friends, painting the bedroom, making pizza on our pizza stone, and filling out thank you cards!! YAY!

Have a fabulous weekend, lovers!

MUAH!

ps. I love my husband so much.
