Nom Nom Nom

I must admit. We have had internet for four days now, and I am only now blogging. Uhoh!

Here are some home updates for you:

I finished putting the living room back in order, and now the only thing left is to decorate the walls. The photos from Heather Mee showed up early this week. They are stunning. If you haven't looked at them I suggest going to my facebook and seeing our wedding photos. She did such an amazing job, and I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for portraits or for a photographer for a special event. Anywho . . .
The bedroom is also painted and put back in order (and unpacked!). It only took me an afternoon to paint it, and I am very pleased with the color. It is a tealish blue color. Very me. The window sills and molding had been painted brown by someone else, and it goes very nicely with the color and matches our bedding perfectly! I quite thrilled about this, because I was not looking forward to painting all the molding white like I've had to do for the rest of the house. (unfortunately I'm not done with that part.) Pretty soon I will be able to post pictures of the apartment all finished and pretty.

Either Sunday or Monday night we were eating left overs and Sean was heating them up in the microwave. He decided that he would play my role and take over the kitchen, and he wouldn't let me in it while he got dinner ready. I often do that to him, because he is a distraction or gets in my way. However, he decided his kitchen was French and even entertained me with a French accent. It was hilarious. At one point I walked into the kitchen and gave him a hug and he looked down at me and demanded, "Get out!! You make it all stinky farty!" (w/ a French accent) I couldn't stop laughing at him. That was followed by "I am a French man, and this is my kitchen!" I really don't know how to react to him sometimes, but I prefer laughter. (even though he might argue I use anger more often) Oh, and we were eating Italian.

This week wasn't all that exciting. I was pretty exhausted, probably from last week. I was up at 8:30 and working on things non stop until about 9:30 at night last week. So this week I have slept in until about 10:30 every day. Love!

My parents are up for the weekend. They arrived yesterday around 3:00. We unloaded more stuff, and I have no idea where it is all going to go. Then we chatted briefly, and headed out to check them into their hotel. After that we went to the Green Dragon market here. It's this huge open air/ in buildings market that is about 10 acres in size, with 20 acres of parking. It's only open Fridays from 9-9, but holy crap am I going every Friday!! or at least once a month to stock up. I've been told to get my meats, cheeses, and produce at a market . . . and now I know why. The prices are incredible! Most of the prices are about half the price of what you would see at Weis Markets, but many of them are even less than that! I got (my dad bought me) about 8 white peaches for $3.75, half a lb of Lebanon Bologna for $3 something a lb, and half a lb of Smoked Boneless Ham for $3 something lb. Most of the meats a the Weis here are $7 or $8 a lb. I was thrilled :). Dad got some snack stick bights at $7 a lb, and some beef jerky at $8 a 1/2 lb. The Jerky is FANTASTIC! Most of the produce items were $.99/lb. We passed by lots of fresh steak cuts ranging from $3 to $11 /lb. They looked wonderful. Sean has next Friday off so we are definitely going. He needs belts, and there was a stand with leather belts 3 for $10. Just like anything you would see in the store that costs you at least $20 per belt. I'm so excited. We also picked up subs, whoopie pies, and apple dumplings. Yum Yum Yum. I LOVE the market.

Sean is at a meeting that started at 7:30am, which stinks for him because unlike his usual 9am start he doesn't have to work until 4 today. He will be getting back a little before 9, and my parents said they would show up at 9. Then we are off to the Amish Trader, some other place, Park City Center, and lunch! As a wedding gift Sean and I received "Date Nights" from a friend of his. She gave us several coupons to try out restaurants in our area, so we are going to try one for lunch today. We haven't picked yet, but I will definitely give you my review so if you are ever in the Lancaster area you will know whether to avoid or enjoy the place. That's all we have planned so far for the day . . . oh and tonight we are making Shrimp Scampi. :) yum.

Tomorrow morning we are going to Shady Maple :) I will definitely be having me some cinnamon walnut pancakes! (well one because they are sooo big) I'm very excited. Sean has never been, which is shocking. A man like him who eats so much yet has never been to the most popular buffet in this area. . . what?!?!

I need to get ready and then get coffee going to wake us all up, although my mother is probably quite excited and well awake. Oh shopping :)

Love you all!! <3 married life

  1. I'm commenting on my own blog instead of blogging again to update this one.
    1. The restaurant we picked wasn't open.
    2. Shady Maple isn't open on Sundays, so we didn't go.
    3. They had already had breakfast (and coffee) before they showed up! So much for brewing all that coffee!!!
