Anyone have advice on making a shredder work properly for longer than 2 minutes? Yes I'm using it appropriately.
This stupid thing.
So our life is out of control busy. Between toddler toy tornadoes and juggling all the changes going on there is hardly time to breathe. I mean seriously any room she goes into becomes a wreck instantly. If something isn't put in its proper place (out of reach) immediately then it is suddenly all over. I find books and random papers behind pillows and in "organized" stacks on different cushions. Libby is always busy moving something from here to there and back again. It would be nice if she didn't have something to move . . . but that's another complaint, so I'll stop whining.
Well . . . my hubby is a busy man these days. He is working mandatory overtime which makes for 58 hour weeks. Can't complain about that when the check comes in . . . but it is definitely going to take its toll. He has officially started his post as the new bi-vocational pastor at Westfield First Baptist Church! Talk about a lot on his plate! and mine . . . :) He has preached there 3 times prior to being voted in, and now once as the official pastor. Although I had to break it to him that his last sermons was his worst. Poor guy . . . but he did ask, so I think he knew.
They can't all be amazing. ;)
So this pastoral business is definitely the biggest change. Sure he has never worked in manufacturing before, but that's learn a task and repeat work . . . being a pastor is a bit different. We have a lot to learn. He has never been a senior pastor before, and I have never been a pastor's wife.

Thumbs up! I'm your pastor's wife! (couldn't help myself . . .)
This is a pretty accurate representation of what they just signed up for even if it is a few years old.

The next few months will be challenging and stressful I'm sure, but we are excited to learn how to manage all this and figure out what our rolls really are in practice. Obviously he won't be the typical pastor, since he is employed full time else where. His time is very limited, so in the next few weeks we will iron out how his time will be spent as a pastor. Sermon prep aside, there are soooo many different things. And then add to that a congregation seeking change. It's a lot all at once.
I'm an organizer (not in my house . . . don't make me laugh). My head is not at peace until I understand the what, how, when, where . . . and right now a lot of that is unsettled. So I'm feeling pretty unsettled myself. Lots of stress brewing in that head of mine, and I just want to tackle it. Which of course I simply do not have the time to do and Sean is unavailable anyway. Thus, our dilemma. Time.
I get the fortunate task of creating a schedule for our life. Yes a schedule. It will be like the first day of school when you are handed a piece of paper telling you exactly where to be when. Example: Sunday 1:30pm quick eat while she is sleeping! 1:35 meet me on the couch for a family chat.
I'm serious. Lol.

Every five minutes counts.
No but I am literally going to schedule in food and talk time, because otherwise it won't happen. There will be scheduled "no computer or die" times too. During those times if one of us is caught hiding our face in shame behind the laptop screen the other person gets to throw a toddler fit. Which is probably the reality of what I do, but I will try to refrain.
Our lives are that crazy right now. AND
To top it off . . . I'm due with baby #2 in 4 weeks.
FOUR . . . WEEKS . . .

aka any time in the next 5 weeks . . .
Speaking of baby #2. I was watching a few minutes of Parenthood as I passed through the upstairs living room the other day. A woman went into labor while they were shopping for essential baby items 3 weeks away from her due date. I was like, "who waits until 3 weeks before to get essentials?!?!" Well . . . the next day I was buying more cloth diapers, and a crib mattress because I realized I am that woman. I waited until 4 weeks to buy essentials. 2nd crib is not put together. Libby's new bedding is not made. Nursery is in shambles.
Oh but we took time to suit and dress clothes shop for Sean on Saturday. I just wanted to get it done before I was too miserable to shop and before the baby came. Nothing like a day long shopping trip when you have to nurse every 2 hours. Ick. Well we struck out anyway. No suits. But we did grab a few shirts, under garments, couple pairs of pants, and I got a couple things for the baby/nursing momma. Then when I got home I got online and was able to buy 2 suits on clearance. We had such a hard time finding his size available in the reasonably priced suits. The $200 jackets were conveniently available in his size, but um no. I'm way too frugal for that. I bought him 2 suits on clearance for $183 . . . yeah. JCP
Next post, on being a pastor's wife. I'm well versed now. I mean, it has been a week and all . . .
