Bearded Elephant

A dear friend of mine came to visit today, and we had so many great laughs! Laughter is sooo good for the soul. I feel amazing today.

I started my day with my husband, and then I cleaned. I mean cleaned. I cleaned the stove, toaster oven, microwave and counters. I organized more in the kitchen. I made Sean vacuum and clean the toilet. I cleaned the bathroom sink. My bedroom is the last thing that really needs to be cleaned. Some clutter to get rid of, but other than that I'm almost satisfied with this place.

Shaina came around 1 this afternoon. We chatted. I showed her the nursery. I opened a gift from her. She got the baby many cute things, including an adorable cow hat. So excited for that photo shoot! Then we went for lunch and chatted for several more hours. She told me this hilarious story about her dog. She apparently has a fun way of telling people she doesn't like them. When there are guests in the house she doesn't like she goes up to them and quickly spritzes them with some pee. <3 Hilarious.

While enjoying Rita's we laughed a great deal about my face. Yes, my face. Many of you may not be aware of this, but sometime over the winter I started sporting a new look. I assure you I had no say in the matter, but my new style is a little hairier than most. It's a beard, dear friends. I have a beard. It's like a light fuzz, and most definitely unwelcome and unappealing. She was very kind about it and assured me she wouldn't have mentioned it if I hadn't brought it up. She said "I was thinking about it and could have sworn you never had that before!" Oh no, it's new. I'm that pregnant lady with a beard. It's not horribly obvious (people don't stop and stare or when they do they are staring at my belly), but it's definitely noticeable. I am very excited for it to go away after the pregnancy. It will go away . . .

We later were laughing about how when I hug Sean there is just something between us. Quite literally, there is a baby between us. She referred to it as "the elephant in the room" when we are trying to hug. I quickly added "bearded elephant."

Resting doesn't sound fun to me right now. I'm going to go clean some more. I want to clean and organize soooo badly. Early labor sign? I hope so.
