Domestic Goddess? Probably not, Higham, but thanks . . .

It is definitely time to share some things from my kitchen! These photos are from our first week in the apartment, so things do look different. I'm not entirely finished painting or organizing, but when I am (soon) I will update the photos!!

This is my kitchen. It's small, but so am I! I love it.
It is the perfect amount of space for me to cook/bake in.
This picture was taken the very first day (the one without electricity!)
Today my counter is lightly more crowded, because since adding
more to the counters I have yet to organize things completely.

The stove and rest of the counter.
If I'm right about when this was taken that is a pb&j.
LOVE my tea kettle. My grandmother warned me that some day
it will date me . . . I have a beautiful blue kettle to put out
for the cooler months . . . for now the summer kettle! <3>
Also I really like having my microwave attached to the wall and above the stove.
That has been a new experience. BTW the fridge is to the right of the stove.
All the appliances are practically brand new :)!
Our cute little table. Today the walls are yellow and the window is white.
The wreath is now hanging outside our front door, and the table top is currently cluttered!
My hubby usually sits on the left by the window, and I usually sit on the right.
. . . in case you were wondering . . . also, this table is from my brother-in-law. Love it :)
My first cup of coffee as a wifey :)! It was just wonderful.
RS bought me the lovely mug that fits so perfectly in my hands.
It is my official coffee mug.
Our First Meal :)
Really easy: chicken stuffed with basil and mozzarella
topped with a homemade Salsa Rosa sauce. We had it with salad.
This photo is quite dark, but the Mac'N'Cheese was not that dark.
It was soooo delicious! I think I should make that again this week!!
Hello Peach Cobbler :) (That is our living room in the background)
I just made this for a potluck and received many compliments.
DELICIOUS. I've made it twice already for us,
and one of those times was for my sister's 20th birthday!
This picture looks kinda strange. This is my first roast in a crock pot.
. . . with carrots, potatoes, and onions. It was good . . . but I was too tired to eat it.
That was one of the nights my man came home at almost midnight.
The end. Now I'm hungry. So lately . . .

I was at Eastern Wed-Fri for the freshman Leadership Grant Program orientation. I really enjoyed seeing friends, and having human interaction with mostly females. Ha! I've really missed it. Don't get me wrong . . . I love my husband and being around him . . . but I spend most of my time alone and sometimes a girl just needs her girlfriends. (by sometimes I mean often)
From my adventures to Eastern this week I have learned many new things . . .
1. My commute is 1hr and 15 min, and sooo exhausting! (of course I was leaving EU at like 9:30 every night)
2. Eastern bought new furniture for Walton and remodeled the ladies room there. (still smells horrendous)
3. The fewer meals you use, the less money Sodexo receives, and the worse your food gets/stays the same nasty/doesn't improve!!!
4. They are building a new building (within the next 2 years) on the softball field and moving that to Valley Forge. This new building will be for the student union and will house the new dining commons. ABOUT TIME!
5. They are building new dorms near Valley Forge called The Village- will be for faculty/graduate students and then undergrad? If I am remembering right . . . oh also Palmer is moving onto our campus since they are no longer accredited. (sorry if I am relaying this information incorrectly)
6. I will not miss living on campus.
7. There are still wasted flat screen TV's on campus.
8. Most of the furniture from Walton is in the 1st floor lounge of Eagle!!!!!
9. The new mansion near campus looks much more complete from the outside, and of course is gorgeous!
10. Saxby's coffee is great!
11. Kat has a twin brother.

I'm sorry if this made no sense to many of my readers . . . now you know how it feels . . . (Grovers. . . .)

One more semester . . . wow time flies!

So today . . .

My husband didn't work until 6, so we hauled out his box of books and notebooks and threw out a lot of old notes and what have you. Before that we collapsed a bunch of cardboard boxes for him to recycle. I also cleaned the shower again. We took turns washing dishes. We had some egg sandwiches. We cleaned the living room. Since he left for work I have gone through my notebooks and thrown out old notes I had saved. I organized what we were keeping and put it all into one box. After doing all this we have about 6 folders, 2 binders, and 9 notebooks to recycle for this semester and more to come! He had only used like 5 pages in each section of several Five Star notebooks . . . they will be put to good use eventually. I'm glad we don't have to buy anything other than textbooks! :)

The neighbors got their stuff out of our garage bay, so I can park my car there now. We also have two wall shelves and more space to use in the garage. I'm going to reorganize our living room closet, and move some things we have stored there to the garage so we can have more space in the house. I'm very excited to do that. Things have been a little crammed in places.

I should stop blogging and return to putting the living room back in order. The floor is currently covered in notebooks that I have been tossing around. I will probably be in bed before my hubby gets home tonight . . . that's a first. We have to go to all three services at church tomorrow, because we are being introduced to the entire congregation. He accepted the role of Youth Director . . . so excited :)! Thankfully we only have to make an appearance for the first and third service, and only have to attend the contemporary service that most of the youth attends. That will be our usual service.

Ok I could ramble on and on. Good night! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend despite the humidity!
LOVE YA!
